First of all, I want to say that I really like the cover art. That's a huge plus for me, if an author takes the time to make sure that the cover art is professional looking and representative of the stories or novel. Secondly, I downloaded these stories because they were free, and I wasn't disappointed. The author has a strong command of the English language, which seems to be a rare trait anymore. I didn't find any egregious errors in spelling or grammar, no shifting tenses or noticeable number disagreements, so everything on the technical side was well done.

But...

I hate to give a less than glowing review to someone who obviously put a lot of effort into their craft, but I think I would be doing the author and the readers a disservice if I wasn't completely honest. I felt like the stories were good first drafts of stories yet to be refined. The plots were good, but the characterizations were a little wanting and the description was quite weak. I felt like the author was telling me the story instead of setting the scene, introducing the characters, and letting the story reveal itself. I know the whole "show, don't tell" thing is becoming a cliche, but there's a reason that phrase is repeated over and over again. It's important! Don't tell me how repulsed he was: show me. Don't explain how she was feeling; show me the pain in her face, the weakness in her movements, etc, and let my imagination fill in the blanks.

I encourage readers to give this author a shot. I think if the he just keeps at it and continues to refine and hone his craft, he will really blossom into a vibrant, energetic horror author.

I thoroughly enjoyed this story. It's clean and crisp, and I was quickly absorbed. I don't recommend reading this at bedtime. It should come with a warning label, as you will be hesitant to close your eyes when you finish reading it.

Congrats, not just on the story, but on the cover art as well. It's excellent and will attract many readers to the work.
I like all of Chad Swayden's book. He is a very talented author and I would read anything he published.
I didn't want this story to end. Chad spins a impressive web with his talented writing and you soon find yourself caught in it, turning page after page as the drama unfolds. I like Chads writing and I can tell that he works hard at his craft. Great story and Yes, a little scary.
